Material direction: ethane-1,2-diol (ethylene glycol)
The main component may be ethane-1,2-diol (ethylene glycol). The spectrum exhibits a broad O–H stretching band near 3287 cm⁻¹, alkyl C–H stretches at 2935 and 2876 cm⁻¹, and C–O stretching absorptions at 1083 and 1036 cm⁻¹, consistent with a vicinal diol. Additional features such as the weak band around 1650 cm⁻¹ and the pattern of peaks in the 1450–1200 cm⁻¹ region further support the assignment
