Compare Two Spectra
A customized, evidence-based comparison of two infrared spectra to assess spectral consistency or answer a stated comparison question.

Customized dual-spectrum assessment
Two spectra are compared to answer your specific question. Typical uses include QC support, comparison with a known reference, and failure investigation.
Describe the goal — consistency check, comparison with a reference, failure investigation, or another question about the two spectra.
The spectra are overlaid and the most relevant differences are reviewed at the band and region level.
The report answers the stated comparison question and explains the evidence, confidence, and limitations.
What you receive
A written assessment with the spectral comparison, important differences, and a conclusion tied to your question.
Overlay of the two spectra with important regions of agreement and difference.
Key differences identified with wavenumber positions and intensity or shape changes where they are meaningful.
A direct answer to the comparison question, with supporting evidence and limitations.
When to use this service
Compare an incoming material spectrum with a qualified reference batch.
Assess whether a sample's FTIR spectrum is consistent with the expected reference material.
Investigate spectral differences between a failed sample and a known-good reference.
Any other clearly stated question that can be addressed by comparing two FTIR spectra.
What the comparison can and cannot show
FTIR can provide strong evidence of spectral similarity and meaningful band differences, but it does not prove that every component or concentration is identical. Orthogonal testing may be needed when the decision requires information outside the FTIR evidence.
Submit your two spectra for comparison
Upload both spectrum files and describe your comparison question.
