Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal data when using our infrared spectrum analysis services.
Effective Date: 30 July 2026
FTIR.fun provides online spectrum analysis tools and professional spectral interpretation services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
Information We Collect
We may collect personal information such as username, password, email address, profile details, and information submitted during service usage.
We may also collect non-personal information including browser type, usage data, pages visited, and general interaction data.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to provide and maintain our services, manage user accounts, and communicate important updates.
Unless you choose to share results publicly to receive discussion or analysis support, all uploaded spectra and search results are used solely to deliver, store, and retrieve your service results. They are not used for model training, spectral library expansion, product research, marketing, resale, or display to other users.
Cookies
FTIR.fun uses essential session cookies and CSRF tokens required for secure authentication and service operation. These cookies are strictly necessary.
The site does not currently load separate analytics or advertising cookies.
Advertising and Google AdSense
FTIR.fun may use Google AdSense in the future. Advertising is not currently enabled, and the AdSense account verification tag does not display ads or set advertising cookies.
If advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, local storage, or device identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where required by law, personalized advertising will be used only after the necessary consent has been obtained. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google's Privacy & Terms guidance and manage ad personalization in Google Ads Settings.
Third-Party Processors
We engage the following categories of third-party service providers to operate the service: cloud infrastructure and CDN providers (including Cloudflare), payment processors (including PayPro Global), and hosting providers. These processors are contractually bound to handle data only per our instructions and applicable data protection laws.
Data Storage and Cross-Border Transfer
User data is stored on servers located in the jurisdictions where our hosting infrastructure operates. For users outside these jurisdictions, data may be transferred across borders as necessary to provide the service. We implement appropriate safeguards to ensure data protection during such transfers in accordance with applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. Users may request early deletion of their data by contacting us. Institutional and enterprise data under zero-retention plans is permanently deleted after report delivery as specified in the applicable agreement.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: access (request a copy of data we hold about you), rectification (correct inaccurate data), erasure (request deletion of your data under certain conditions), restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at ftir.fun@outlook.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Children's Privacy
FTIR.fun is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
Automated Decision-Making
FTIR.fun provides AI-assisted spectral interpretation as a research and analysis aid. AI-generated outputs are not binding decisions and should always be independently reviewed by qualified professionals. Users are not subject to automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant consequences without human review.
Information Sharing
We do not sell personal data to third parties. Information may be shared when required by law or when necessary to operate the service, such as payment processing or hosting.
Public Data and AI Usage
If you choose to share results publicly, publicly shared data may be used to improve our services, including for AI-based model training and spectral library contributions.
Private and non-public data — including uploaded spectra, search results, and any data submitted under confidentiality or zero-retention workflows — is used solely to deliver, store, and retrieve your service results. It is never used for model training, library expansion, product research, marketing, resale, or display to other users.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data, including secure servers and encrypted storage where appropriate.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on our website or via email.
